I am a professional Script Supervisor who works in both the short and feature-length spaces, which means I supervise continuity on a film set. I support the director's vision by ensuring that all actors, props, wardobe, and equipment are set for each scene. Take a look at my short message below or my resume.
In film production, continuity is the notion that a sequence of shots all need to feel as unified and fluid as if they were a single shot and audiences should feel as though nothing has changed in terms of time and space. At the end of every day, the only thing that matters is what was captured, so I am the eyes and ears of the editor who is usually not on set. I ensure coverage is complete. My roll is to notate any irregularities it deviations from the script.
As a film production‘s Script Supervisor, I am in the thick of every setup with a clear view of what is being filmed. I stand as close to the camera as I can get without getting in anyone’s way to get the best view of what is being filmed, notating character movements; costume, prop and set details; ensuring all lines are read and that everything looks good enough to PRINT. There is, by far, no other role on set which affords the luxury of seeing the process unravel with such intimacy. It is an honor to be given the opportunity to survey not only a director’s every move and all they say to their department heads, but to take down the different notes she gives to actors before calling ACTION and, more importantly, after we CUT.
Eventually, these things have to get back to the editor, or editor’s assistant if the production relies on dailies.
I have worked as Script Supervisor, on both short and feature length films, since 2018. A team player with a positive attitude, I find working with all types of directors to be the most rewarding aspect of my job. I see each Continuity project as a focused exercise to explore a director’s style and I quickly adapt according to the specific needs each presents.
